Why we started Bizze Kitchens

Bizze Kitchens is a family-run company built around something that has been important to me for a long time: the kitchen.

I love to cook. To me, a kitchen has never just been cabinets, countertops, and appliances. It's where people gather after work, where kids do homework at the counter, where friends end up standing during a party, and where families spend a huge part of their everyday lives. It really is the center of the home.

That's also one of the reasons I've always enjoyed remodeling kitchens.

I've spent the last 10 years in the remodeling industry, working with kitchens and bathrooms, and during that time I've had the opportunity to see a lot of beautiful projects come together. But I've also seen the other side of this business.

I've seen homeowners deal with contractors who stop answering the phone once the project starts. I've seen jobs sit unfinished because materials weren't ordered correctly or a critical part was never checked before demolition began. I've seen homeowners told a project would take a few weeks, only to still be living in construction months later.

And unfortunately, I've seen plenty of work that simply wasn't done the way it should have been. Poor installation. Bad communication. Constant delays. Change orders homeowners weren't expecting. Different crews showing up who didn't know what the previous crew had done. Projects bouncing between subcontractors with nobody really taking responsibility for the finished product.

After seeing those problems over and over again, I started noticing something else.

A lot of homeowners want a new kitchen but are afraid to take the next step.

And when you ask them why, you usually hear some version of the same three things:

And the frustrating part is that those concerns didn't come out of nowhere.

People have heard stories from their friends and neighbors about a kitchen that was supposed to take three weeks and took three months. They've heard about projects that started at one price and ended thousands of dollars higher. They've seen homes where the workmanship looked great from across the room but started showing problems a year later.

So instead of simply accepting that this is how remodeling works, we built Bizze Kitchens around fixing those problems.

We looked at the traditional remodeling process and essentially worked backwards. One of the biggest mistakes in remodeling is tearing apart someone's kitchen before everything needed to rebuild it is ready. We don't believe your home should become a storage facility while everyone waits for missing materials.

That's why our process starts before demolition ever begins. We order the materials for your project ahead of time. We verify what has arrived. We check the important components before your existing kitchen is removed. We plan the project so that when our crew walks through your door, they are coming there to build — not to start figuring things out.

Because every additional day without a kitchen affects your life. It means eating out more often. Washing dishes in another room. Moving appliances around the house. Trying to make breakfast before work without a functioning kitchen. And if you have children, pets, or a busy household, that inconvenience gets old very quickly.

Our goal is to make that period as short and predictable as possible.

We also believe strongly in accountability. Rather than having your project passed from one group of people to another, we want one dedicated in-house crew focused on your kitchen from start to finish. They know what happened yesterday. They know what needs to happen tomorrow. And they know the standard we expect when the project is complete.

That consistency matters. So does communication. You shouldn't have to chase down your remodeling company to find out whether someone is showing up tomorrow. You shouldn't be wondering what stage your project is in or what happens next.

And while we're proud of the kitchens we build, we're just as focused on the experience people have while we're building them. Because at the end of the day, great countertops and beautiful cabinets don't mean much if getting them installed was a nightmare.

We're not interested in promising that remodeling will never have an unexpected challenge. Construction is construction, and occasionally something behind a wall surprises everyone.

What we can promise is that we've spent years seeing where remodeling projects go wrong, and we've intentionally designed our process to prevent as many of those problems as possible.

We believe remodeling your kitchen should feel exciting again. You should be thinking about the first meal you're going to cook in it — not wondering when you're finally going to get your house back.
